Lush Lemony Flutter

It smells like lemons, I love lemons: Lush Lemony Flutter Review

Lush has recently graced us with a store in Cape Town and I couldn’t be happier! And since I have nail care OCD Lemony Flutter would be the obvious choice for my first Lush Purchase!

This is a product that is worshipped by many nail polish addicts and lovers out there and after using it for the past 2 months I can see why. The creamy formula makes rubbing it into your cuticles a pleasure. Oh! And the smell of zingy lemon is just so uplifting. It has become my favourite smell! (Do people have a favourite smell?) I have read that some people really dislike the smell and they find the product too greasy, but I guessed it’s based on preference. My boyfriend really dislikes the fragrance; he prefers the smell of the Earthy Lush Handy Gurugu which, in turn, I'm not too fond of.

The features of this products – according to Lush.com :
  • Must-have: This is the product that quickly changes from a whim to can’t-live-without.
  • No more rough stuff: Softens hard skin all over the body, especially the cuticles and elbows.
  • Sunny citrus: Lemons are excellent for brightening skin and softening rough areas.
I can vouch for all these features. I can’t start my day without giving my hands a good massage with this product. It has really softened my hands and cuticles. I haven’t used cuticle remover since using this product. Lemony Flutter is a God send to rough heels and elbows. Apply some to your feet, and put on socks before you go to bed. You will wake up with baby soft feet. I find that the Main ingredient, Mango butter, is very soothing. So this is awesome for tired feet as well. All Lush products are fresh and handmade and come with an expiry date.

Lemony Flutter goes for R95 for 50g. A Lot of people can’t justify paying that much for so little product, but as any Lush lover will tell you, “a little does go a long way”. I have mine for two months, using it every day, and you can see from the second picture, I still have A LOT left. If you are still sceptical about purchasing this product, don’t be afraid to pop into a Lush store and grab a sample.

This is just the first of many Lush products I will review. Have you tried Lemony Flutter or any other Lush products? What would you recommend? Drop a comment below.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless

My First Blog Review: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless

Well hello guys. Welcome to my first blog post. I am reviewing the product which has inspired me to start a blog. The Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless.

First let me talk a little about my lashes. I have the finest, littlest lashes, on the face of this earth. In the past, when using random mascaras, it would still look like I do not have any mascara on; in fact people wouldn't believe me when I tell them that I am wearing mascara. Even my boyfriend (who has the longest, most lushes’ lashes) mocked my eye lashes. I have been using the Rimmel glam eyes mascara, which I received as a gift, and when it ran out I decided to get myself a new one. This time I decided to look for one to suit my baby lashes. I came across this mascara with an introductory price of R119

Usually I wouldn't pay more than R100 for mascara but after reading what this mascara claims to do, I decided to give it a go. Rimmel Claims:
Our first ultra lengthening mascara that defies the laws of lash length!
- Length that defies limits
- Formula with Micro-Fibres
- Instant wow: Extends lashes by up to 99%
- Lash-catching brush grabs every lash for perfect separation. No clumps!

After using it for 3 months, I can say that all these claims Rimmel makes about their mascara are true. The long brush catches all the lashes in one stroke and has almost no clumping. I'm no mascara expert, but I love this mascara. The product also claims to have a growth lash complex which I honestly ignored as I didn't really think that a mascara can make your lashes grow longer, but after using it for 3 months I have to say, that I have seen growth in my lashes. Even without any mascara on, my lashes are much longer and more visible. Even now when I wear my previous cheaper mascaras, they take so much differently onto my lashes.

This is a one stroke application

I wish I had a photo of my lashes before using this mascara, but believe it or not my lashes used to be much shorter than this even with mascara on. To be honest, I don't think my lashes does this mascara much justice. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good lengthening mascara. This is definitely a repurchase.

I hope I did well for my first blog post. I have so many things to review. So I'll see you soon.
