Lush Skin Care Review: Part One

So over the past two months I have purchased a lot of skin care products from Lush cosmetics as I have been having very bad skin lately and decide to go the natural, preservative free route. I won’t be reviewing all the products in one post but I will be doing them in three parts. In part one I will review the two cleansers I got; Angels on Bare Skin & Ultrabland.

 

I’ll start with Ultrabland. Ultrabland is one of Lush best selling products. It is an oil based cleanser suitable for all skin types. When you think of a cleanser, you think gel, cream, or foam base which produces a creamy foamy lather, but no, obviously Lush thought otherwise with this cleanser. Ultrabland is a heavy oil cream, which looks and feels like pure coconut oil and smells a lot like honeycomb. You apply Ultrabland straight onto the face, massage gently and remove with a warm cloth.

   

This product is an EXCELLENT make up remover, because of its main ingredient, beeswax. You can rub this on your eyes to get off eye makeup and it doesn’t sting your eyes at all. Besides being a brilliant make up remover it gets rid of all dirt and oil from your face that would gather after a long day. I use this at night because it is quiet oily and also doesn’t require moisturising after cleansing.

 

The reason I fell in love with this product, besides it leaving my face soft and supple, it has lightened by blemishes so much also it soothed any pimple I had before I started using it. This is not really for acne prone skin but if you trying to lighten acne scars or hydrate dry skin, this would be the perfect product.

Now onto Angels on Bare skin....

Angels on Bare Skin is a gorgeous product. It is from Lush’s range of fresh facial cleanser. It has no preservative and only has a shelf life of 3 months.

Angels on Bare Skin is an almost dry product that you have take a pea size piece and mix with a little bit of water to form a paste before massaging it into the face. I find this process very therapeutic but can be annoying if you are in a rush. It smells really good and I find it really fun to use. Using Angels on Bare skin in combination with Ultrabland has really evened out my skin tone. My skin is less blotchy and much smoothed and the ground almonds makes for a gentle exfoliator that can be used every day.

In conclusion, I have founds using these products very effective for evening out my skin tone and keeping my skin soft and supple. I have also gotten no break outs since using these products nor a single blemish. I suggest buying the smaller size in both these products as I have had both these products for just over a month, using it every day, and haven’t even reached half of the pot.
